LOT 1175
An early to mid-19th century oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 12-inch painted breakarch dial decorated with Continental views surrounding Roman hour numerals, subsidiary date and seconds and inscribed 'D. Borelli Farnham', the hood with swan neck pediment and fluted columns, the trunk with rectangular door and inlaid decoration, on bracket feet, height 217cm, with pendulum bob and two weights (faults). Note: Dominic Borelli is an Italian jeweller and clock and barometer maker working in Basingstoke circa 1830-1833, then Farnham circa 1835, and then Plymouth 1838-56.
