A rare mid/late 19th century Tranter's Patent five-shot percussion-revolving rifle, No. 8959 T, with front and rear-sighted octagonal barrel, barrel length 54.5cm, detailed with the colonial retailer's name 'Charles, Nephew & Co, Calcutta', the frame engraved 'W. Tranters Patent', with shaped openwork swept trigger and guard, walnut stock with chequered grip and steel butt plate.
