Note: in his biography, Christopher Hassall states that Neville Lytton was incredibly formative on Edward Marsh's taste in art: 'By far the greatest contribution which Neville Lytton made to Marsh's life was the continuation of his education in the graphic arts… Lytton was always ready to hear about painting, and Marsh's anxiety to be a fitting companion for a painter sharpened his critical eye.'
