A Japanese Satsuma earthenware vase by Hasegawa, Meiji period, of baluster form, painted and gilt with opposing panels of figures and landscape, reserved against a floral and simulated brocade ground, iron red and gilt signature to base, height 9.7cm (chip to footrim), together with a Satsuma earthenware kettle by Hattori, Meiji period, painted and gilt with birds and wisteria, black painted signature to base, height 3.9cm (minor faults and restoration).
