A Japanese Satsuma earthenware circular bowl by Fuzan, Meiji period, the interior painted and gilt with a leaf shaped panel filled with a samurai standing at the water's edge, beneath a blossoming branch beside further panels of landscape, flowers and simulated brocade, all beneath a keyfret rim, the exterior with a band of further flowers and simulated brocade, iron red and gilt signature to base, diameter 18.5cm, height 7.7cm.
