A Japanese cloisonné box and cover by the Ando Company, Meiji period, of rectangular form with rounded corners, the top decorated with a pink blossoming prunus branch, butterfly and narcissi on a turquoise ground, the sides with scattered flowerheads, gilt whorls and scale bands on a black ground with iron red beaded borders, inlaid factory mark to base, length 4.8cm.
