London: William Blackwood and Sons, 1855. 2 vols., second edition, 8vo (241 x 162mm.) 14 engraved plates, numerous illustrations in the text, 16pp. publisher's advertisements to rear. (Spotting to plate margins and occasionally within, toning, hinges weakening.) Original green morocco-backed brown cloth, pictorial gilt to upper covers and spines (wear with loss to spines, fading to cloth). Provenance: John Inglis (name inscribed to front-free endpaper).
