A mid-20th century marine chronometer, the two day chain fusee movement with maintaining power, Earnshaw type spring detent escapement and bimetallic balance, the silvered circular dial with subsidiary state of wind and seconds dials and Roman hour numerals, inscribed 'Henry Browne & Son Ltd Barking London' and numbered '16431', housed in a matching numbered lacquered brass bowl, hung in gimbals, dial diameter 10.5cm, within a mahogany travelling box with glazed hinged lid, the front applied with a brass plaque, numbered '16431', the side with brass carrying handle, total height 17.3cm, with winding key.
