LOT 1137
An early Victorian silver pair cased keywind open-faced gentleman's pocket watch, the gilt fusee movement with verge escapement, detailed 'W. Tanner, Cliffe, Lewes, No. 25870', the enamelled dial with black Roman numerals, the inner case back numbered '25870', London 1849, outer case diameter 6cm, with a key. Note: William Tanner is a recorded watchmaker working in Lewes between 1833 and 1862. He was born in 1799 and died in 1873.
