LOT 1010
A mid-18th century silver pair cased keywind open-faced gentleman's pocket watch, the gilt fusee movement with verge escapement and mask engraved and scroll pierced balance cock, the backplate detailed 'Jno Costellow 296 Chichester', the silvered dial with black Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minute numerals, the dial centre detailed 'Costellow Chichester', the inner and outer cases unmarked, case diameter 4.3cm, outer case diameter 5cm. Note: John Costellow is a recorded watchmaker/goldsmith with premises at The Pallant, Chichester. He was born in 1677 and died in 1744.
