EXTRA-ILLUSTRATED. - Charles HERVEY. The Theatres of Paris. Paris & London: Galignani and Co., and John Mitchell, 1846. First edition, signed by the author, 8vo (268 x 164mm.) 8 lithographed portraits by Alexandre Lacauchie, extra-illustrated with 131 engraved and lithographic illustrations and portraits, including 14 large hand-coloured lithographs by A. Colin and others, an a.l.s. and 2 signed postcards tipped-in to preliminaries, a signed photograph of the author also tipped-in to the front blank. (Some browning, light spotting to text leaves.) Mid-twentieth century blue half morocco bound by Bayntun, elaborate gilt to spine, t.e.g. (rubbing to spine ends, some fading). Provenance: J.F. Dexter (inscribed to by the author on initial blank).
