BINDINGS. - Thomas Babington MACAULAY. Lays of Ancient Rome. London: Longmans, Green, Reader & Dyer, 1867. New edition, 4to (214 x 162mm.) (Spotting to title, light to moderate spotting within.) Bound by Rivière in red morocco with gilt wreath corner-pieces linked to angel and eagle motifs by densely in-filled blocks, gilt lettering to the second compartment with quatrefoil motifs to the rest, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Berkeley Crosbie Quill (gift inscribed to in a prize presentation inscription on the front-free endpaper). - And a further six leather-bound volumes (including John Bunyan's 'The Pilgrim's Progress', 1859, 8vo, bound by Maclehose, Glasgow) (7).
