A pair of Japanese Satsuma earthenware vases by Gyokushu, Meiji period, each of diminutive slender baluster form, painted and gilt with opposing panels of bijin and children and samurai, reserved against a blue ground filled with gilt overlaid foliate decoration, black and gilt signature to bases, height 8.7cm (chip to rim of one).
