A Doulton Lambeth stoneware gilt metal mounted table oil lamp, circa 1884, decorated by Mark V. Marshall, monogrammed, the tapered body decorated with opposing panels of a cat with a bird in its mouth, flanked by birds within foliate framing, the similarly decorated reservoir with bird and foliate panelled decoration, held within gilt metal supports on a cruciform base, fitted with a Hinks's Duplex Patent burner with glass chimney and etched shade, incised factory marks, height to top of reservoir 35cm (reservoir restored).
