BEWICK, Thomas (illustrator). The Fables of Aesop, and Others, with Designs on Wood. Newcastle: E. Walker for T. Bewick, 1823. Second edition, Small 4to (222 x 128mm.) Title vignette, numerous wood-engraved illustrations, the facsimile receipt leaf with thumb-print and inscribed word 'Demy' and '18' and number '835'. (Toning, slight browning to title.) Original cloth, later black morocco lettering piece to spine (sunning to spine, some loss to top of spine panel). - And a further two volumes illustrated by Thomas Bewick (including the limited edition 'A Pretty Book of Pictures for Little Masters and Misses, or Tommy Trip's History of Beasts and Birds', 1867, 8vo) (3).
