Original red patterned paper-covered boards, gilt ruled with fleur-de-lys to upper cover, t.e.g. Note: a bound-in leaf from the author explaining that the war delayed publication of this volume, and another leaf explaining that the war- a 'grim abyss'- has also taken Emile Bertaux, who wrote the preface.
