BEWICK, Thomas (illustrator). - Julia BOYD (editor). Bewick Gleanings: Being Impressions from Copperplates and Wood Blocks, Engraved in the Bewick Workshop. Newcastle: Andrew Reid, 1886. Limited edition, being number 92 of 250 copies signed by the editor, 4to (234 x 178mm.) 54 engraved copper plates with tissue-guards, numerous illustrations in the text, in 2 parts, folding facsimile of a letter from Bewick. (Toning.) Original black half morocco over green morocco covered boards bound by Andrew Reid, gilt titling to spine, t.e.g. (light rubbing to extremities). Provenance: [?] Training College (small stamp to margin of p.29). - And a further six volumes relating to Bewick (including James Thomson's 'The Seasons…embellished with Engravings on Wood by Bewick from Thurston's Designs', 1805, 4to, and the Emerson Charnley edition of Thomas and John Bewick's 'Select Fables', 1820, 8vo) (7).
