BELL, James (translator). - Don Ignacio Lopez DE AYALA. The History of Gibraltar, from the earliest period of its occupation by the Saracens. London: William Pickering, 1845. First translated edition, 8vo (168 x 100mm.) Folding colour lithographed frontispiece, appendix to rear. (Some creasing to folds of frontispiece, toning, lacking half-title?) Original brown cloth, paper label to spine (loss to top of label, light rubbing, upper cover damp-affected). Provenance: W.J.F. Hallway (name printed to front-free endpaper).
