QUARLES, Francis. Emblems, Divine and Moral. London: John Bennet, 1839. New edition, 8vo (178 x 102mm.) Portrait frontispiece of Quarles, preface by John Ryland, 80 engraved plates. (Toning, spotting to plate margins.) Near contemporary half calf, green morocco lettering piece to the spine, blind-tooling to the spine (rubbing to extremities). - And a further three illustrated volumes (including 'Icones Veteris Testamenti' with illustrations after designs by Holbein, 1830, 8vo, and a book of 57 mounted woodcut illustrations from the scriptures) (4).
