A mid-18th century mahogany silent pull quarter repeating bracket clock timepiece, the eight day single fusee movement striking quarters on two bells on demand, the 7-inch brass breakarch dial with engraved silvered centre, date aperture and chapter ring with Roman hour numerals and outer Arabic minutes, cornered with cast and pierced gilt scroll spandrels, all beneath a silvered boss to arch, signed 'Jas Green Nantwich', the case with moulded arch pediment and brass carrying handle above glazed front and back doors and glazed oval side panels, on a moulded plinth and bracket feet, height 40cm, together with a later carved wall bracket. Note: James Green of Nantwich is a recorded clockmaker, married in 1740 and died in 1779, when succeeded by daughters and son Thomas Green.
