LOT 1165
A George III Irish figured mahogany longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 14-inch square painted dial with black Roman hour numerals, outer Arabic minutes and subsidiary seconds and inscribed 'Shaw, Williamson, Dublin', cornered with gilt foliate scrolls, the hood with urn finial and broken arch pediment above a dentil cornice, glazed door and fluted columns, the trunk with crossbanded door, flanked by a pair of fluted corner columns, above an inlaid base and bracket feet, height 218cm, with pendulum, two weights and winding key. Note: Shaw Williamson is a recorded Dublin clockmaker working pre-1777 to 1795.
