LOT 1161
A Regency figured mahogany and ebonized longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the 13-inch painted breakarch dial with black Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and date aperture, inscribed 'Richd Alexander Chippenham', and painted with flowers to arch and corners, the arched hood with three brass finials, glazed door and turned ebonized columns, the rectangular tank door flanked by matching ebonized columns, on a panelled base and bun feet, height 225cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: Richard Alexander is a recorded clockmaker working in Chippenham, Wiltshire, between 1795 and 1848.
