A group of Second World War awards to William H. Proctor, Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, comprising British Empire Medal, George VI military issue, to '1258140 L.A.C. William H Proctor R.A.F.V.R.', with Buckingham Palace forwarding slip and Air Ministry confirmation of the award, 1939-45 Star, Pacific Star, Defence Medal and War Medal, displayed in a glazed frame, together with a collection of original paperwork relating to him being taken as a prisoner of war by the Japanese, his own true account of experiences as a Japanese prisoner of war, dated 'August, 96', detailed 'WH Proctor BEM (now aged 87)', and a collection of letters sent from home to army post office addresses in Singapore and other destinations.
