A Japanese Satsuma earthenware koro, Meiji period, the compressed globular body thickly enamelled in gosu blue, red, black, green and gilt with a continuous band of precious vessels beneath a lappet collar filled with chrysanthemum flowerheads, raised on three short bracket feet, gilt two-character signature and blue Shimazu mon to base, fitted with a base metal pierced dome cover, total height 15.5cm.
