LOT 1139
A George III oak longcase clock with eight day movement striking on a bell, the painted breakarch dial decorated with urn to arch above Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed 'R. Webster Salop', the hood with moulded pediment and glazed door flanked by turned columns, the trunk with rectangular panelled door and cluster columns above a panelled base, moulded plinth and bun feet, height 207.5cm, with pendulum and two weights. Note: Robert Webster is a recorded clockmaker working in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. He was born in 1755, married in 1795 and died in 1832.
