LONDON. - John NICHOLS. The History and Antiquities of Canonbury-House at Islington in the County of Middlesex. London: for the Author, 1788. 4to (262 x 202mm.) 5 engraved plates including a North West view of Canonbury, bound with numerous blank leaves to rear. (Moderate spotting throughout.) Late 19th century brown morocco over buckram-covered boards, gilt lettering to spine (surface wear to spine, rubbing). Note: originally published as Vol. 2 part 4. Of 'Bibliotheca Topographica Britannia no XLIX'. Provenance: John Warren (bookplate to front pastedown). - And a further four volumes relating to London (including Samuel Lewis's 'Islington As It Was And As It Is', 1854, 8vo and F. Cornman's 'Vestiges of Old London', 1900, 4to) (5).
