Ellis Roberts - 'Ivy, daughter of Lord Algernon Gordon-Lennox', oil on canvas, artist's name and sitter details to labels verso, 60cm x 50cm, within a gilt frame of flat section with leaf and berry moulding. Note: Ivy Gordon-Lennox was appointed Maid of Honour to Queen Alexandra, the Queen Mother. During the First World War, she was Princess Victoria's representative in connection with proposed Nurses' Clubs in France, travelling to Étaples and Abbeville. She later married William Cavendish-Bentinck, Marquess of Titchfield. Her uncle was Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox, 7th Duke of Richmond and Lennox, 2nd Duke of Gordon.
