LOT 1112
A George III mahogany drop dial wall timepiece, the brass eight day five pillar fusee movement with verge escapement, the 8-inch silvered brass circular dial with black Roman hours and outer Arabic minutes, mock pendulum aperture and inscribed 'Richd Comber Lewes', the case with moulded circular surround and hinged doors to side and apron, diameter 25cm, height 31cm (alterations and restoration). Note: Richard Comber is recorded in 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' by G.H. Baillie as a good maker working in Lewes, born in 1742 and dying in 1824.
