Phyllis Dawson - a group of three finely engraved woodcut printing blocks, one depicting a fantastical capriccio exterior view of Classical architecture with figures and animals, 18.2cm x 14.7cm, another exterior view with a central saint, windmill and Canterbury Cathedral beyond, 18cm x 14cm, and a Venetian view with cats, 17.5cm x 12.2cm. Note: Phyllis Dawson (1903-1993) was an illustrator and wood engraver. Born in London, she went on to study at Clapham School of Art with William Washington, then at Canterbury School of Art under John Austen.
