A Chinese Canton export lacquer tea caddy, early to mid-19th century, of canted corner rectangular form, the hinged lid and sides painted and gilt with figural panels within borders of dragons, leaves and scrolls, flanked by a pair of drop handles, on carved paw feet, the interior fitted with two pewter canisters and covers, height 14.5cm, length 29cm.
