A Chinese Canton export mother-of-pearl shell, late 19th century, finely carved in low relief with figures in a village scene, length 23cm, on a carved and pierced hardwood stand, decorated with lotus leaves and sinuous stems, total height 30.5cm (minor chips), together with a Chinese hardstone and hardwood table screen, the oval soapstone panel applied with vari-coloured hardstone and ivory scene of a maiden and flowers, the hardwood stand pierced with scrolling tendrils, total height 31.5cm (minor faults).
