An English Delft plate, London, Brislington or Bristol, circa 1680-1700, painted in blue with a Chinese figure seated in an Oriental landscape, the rim with two further figures, diameter 20.8cm (broken in half and glued), together with two other English Delft plates, the first painted in blue with a landscape river view, the second with a central willow tree within a framed cartouche (faults). Note: the pattern on the first plate is illustrated by Michael Archer 'Delftware The Tin-Glazed Earthenware of the British Isles', page 204, B.193. Provenance: from the collection of the late Professor Maurice Stacey.
