A tin-glazed earthenware pottery jar, possibly Spanish, dated 1752, the ribbed tapered body inscribed in blue 'A, 1752 IͶ? FVSS, CAPArrAr' within a foliate cartouche, beneath two simple lug handles to the shoulders, height 27cm (minor faults). Provenance: from the collection of the late Professor Maurice Stacey.
