CHILDREN'S BOOKS. - Beatrix POTTER. The Tale of Mr. Tod. London: Frederick Warne and Co., 1912. First edition, 16mo (136 x 99mm.) Colour frontispiece, 14 colour plates, dated to title-page. (Several tape repairs, spotting verso the frontispiece.) Original grey boards with mounted inset plate to upper cover (tape repair to spine). Note: the dedicatee's name mistakenly 'William Francis', later changed to 'Francis William'. Provenance: Louis B. Leigh (name inscribed verso the frontispiece). [Linder, p.429]. - And a further first edition by Beatrix Potter ('The Tale of Mrs. Tittlemouse', 1910, 16mo) (2).
