LOT 2556
Attributed to Charles Thomas Wheeler - a terracotta figure group of a seated mother and child, the base delicately modelled in relief with cherubs and flowers, height 51cm, mounted on an oak plinth. Note: Charles Thomas Wheeler became the first sculptor to hold the Presidency of the Royal Academy between 1956 and 1966. Provenance: a gift from the artist to Hilda Beatrice, known as Peggy Wheeler, and thereafter by descent.
