A late 19th century French slate and ormolu calendar mantel clock with eight day movement striking hours and half hours on a bell, the backplate stamped 'Y.M. Thomas Paris', the white enamel chapter ring with black Roman numerals framing a silvered date ring and visible escapement, the arched case surmounted with a vase of fruit and flowers issuing similarly adorned festoons, the front with glazed lenticle flanked by applied scrolls, on a breakfront base and bracket feet, height 46.5cm, with gilt pendulum and winding key.
