LOT 1190
A George IV brass inlaid mahogany bracket clock, the brass four pillar eight day twin fusee movement with deadbeat escapement striking hours on a bell with pull-repeat mechanism, the backplate signed 'Gravell & Son London' above '3928', the similarly signed silvered circular dial with black Roman hour numerals, the case with breakarch pediment above a recessed front panel with brass edge and inlaid scrolls, flanked by canted corners, the sides with gilt brass cornucopia and loose ring handles above pierced scale fret panels, on a plinth base and brass ball feet, height 44cm, with pendulum and winding key (pendulum suspension spring broken). Note: Gravell & Son are recorded as London clockmakers working at Charterhouse Square between 1783 and 1825.
