LOT 1147
A George V black chinoiserie cased mantel timepiece, decorated by Wilfred Frost, the white circular dial with black Arabic hours, the case decorated with gilt pagoda and flowers against a black ground, on brass ball feet, height 22cm. Note: the case was painted by the decorative artist Wilfred Frost. Frost was employed as a painter and restorer at the Royal Pavilion, Brighton, from 1921. The Pavilion was damaged while being used as a military hospital during World War I. Provenance: from the artist to his family and thereafter by descent.
