Wilfred F. Frost - Processional Scene on a Chinoiserie Patterned Background, mid-20th century oil and gilt on white lacquer panel, 60.5cm x 45cm, within a gilt faux bamboo frame. Note: this panel is similar to those in the Banqueting Room originally supplied by Robert Jones for the Royal Pavilion, Brighton. Wilfred Frost was employed as a painter and restorer at the Royal Pavilion in 1921 to repair the damage caused when using it as a military hospital during the First World War. These smaller reproductions were painted by Frost as a retirement project. Provenance: the artist and thence by direct descent.
