CHRISTIE, A.G.I. English Medieval Embroidery, a Brief Survey of English Embroidery Dating From the Beginning of the Tenth Century Until the End of the Fourteenth. Oxford: at the Clarendon Press, 1938. First edition, folio (379 x 281mm.) Colour frontispiece with tissue-guard, 159 plates, 2 folding tables, illustrations in the text. (Toning, occasional finger-mark, crease to tissue.) Later green cloth, black morocco lettering piece to the spine. Note: an important reference work on English medieval embroidery. Provenance: West Riding County Library (small stamp verso plate 159).
