METASTASIO, Pietro. Opere. Paris: la Vedova Herissant, 1780-1782. 9 vols. only (of 12), large 8vo (258 x 199mm.) 26 engraved plates, tissue-guards. (Mild toning, occasional spotting.) Near contemporary straight-grain morocco covers, gilt lettering to spines, g.e. (rubbing to extremities, some surface loss, slight fading). Note: lacking vols. 4, 7 and 10. Provenance: Mary Hamilton, diarist and niece of Emma Hamilton (bookplates to front pastedowns and ink signatures) (9).
