ARCADIA PRESS. - Millard MEISS and Edith W. KIRSCH. The Visconti Hours. London: Arcadia Press, 1973. Limited edition, this number 5 of 55 copies signed by Duca Uberto Visconti di Modrone, 4to (248 x 178mm.) Numerous illustrations in colour and gilt. Original vellum bound by Zaehnsdorf, gilt-embossed with blue and red morocco onlays to upper cover, raised bands, gilt lettering, gilt turn-ins, g.e., blue cloth solander box. Note: Uberto, the Visconti di Modrone, wrote the preface to this volume and signed in ink to the title-page. He was a descendant of the Milanese Visconti family that commissioned the original manuscript. - And a further two volumes published by the Arcadia Press (Athanasius Papageorgiou's 'Icons of Cyprus', 1971, 4to; and Jacquetta Hawkes's 'Dawn of the Gods', 1969, 4to) (3).
