A rare Thames Tunnel commemorative stoneware flask or inkwell, circa 1843, of rectangular shape, relief decorated with a depiction of Marc Isambard Brunel's tunnelling shield to one side, opposing simple incised scrollwork, the top with a pair of foliate scrolls flanking a central aperture with two smaller apertures, unmarked, length 8cm, height 7.4cm, width 3.3cm (minor faults).
