LOT 3206
OXFORD. Two volumes of hand-written records of crimes committed in the Oxfordshire villages of Thame, Stonesfield, Great Haseley and Woodstock, dated 1839-40, leaves 20cm x 16cm, and a further hand-written volume of student notes. Note: possibly written by a court magistrate's clerk, the two legal volumes list the criminal's name, the crime, the sentence or punishment and, occasionally, a transcription of the prosecution's testimony ('Henry Tibbets- for stealing a snuff-box- 14 days and horse-whipped').
