BURNS, Robert. Poems, chiefly in the Scottish Dialect. Edinburgh: T. Cadell, 1794. 2 vols. in 1, 8vo (183 x 112mm.) Portrait frontispiece, glossary to rear. (Initial blank loose with tipped-in newspaper cutting, half-title torn with loss, browning, minor soiling to margins.) Contemporary calf, red morocco lettering piece to the spine (rubbing to extremities). Provenance: Robert Shields (stamp verso the frontispiece). - And a quantity of literary volumes (including Daniel Defoe's 'The Life and Surprising adventures of Robinson Crusoe', 1801, 8vo) (a quantity).
