A Buka Island palmwood ceremonial paddle, Solomon Islands, Melanesia, the Janus head finial with a flanged headdress above a geometric carved and pierced panel, the shaft spreading to a ridged lozenge shaped end, with dark surface pigments, bearing applied label detailed 'Admiralty Islands', length 118cm.
