A Japanese wakizashi (short sword), 19th century, with slightly curved single-edged blade, the tang signed to one side, the iron oval tsuba cast in relief and pierced with figures beneath pine, picked out in gilt, the fabric bound sharkskin covered grip with bronzed copper fuchi, kashira and two gilt dragon menuki, all with cast decoration, visible blade length 44.5cm, total length 62cm.
