LOT 1156
A late 18th century Austrian ebonized diminutive bracket timepiece, probably of short duration with verge escapement on a going barrel mechanism, the brass breakarch dial with mock pendulum aperture to arch within an engraved surround of two snails, fruit basket and foliate scrolls, above a matt centre with engraved foliate scroll framed oval panel, inscribed 'Braun', the silvered chapter ring with black Roman hour numerals, fleur-de-lis divisions and outer Arabic minutes, all cornered with gilt coronet and crossed baton spandrels, the case with caddy top, brass carry handle and pineapple finials above a glazed front door and sliding back door, on a moulded plinth base and bun feet, height 36.5cm, with later ebonized wall bracket.
