Andrea Pozzi (1759-1788) - a set of three mid/late 18th century Italian carved ivory rectangular plaques, each finely worked in relief with classical figures, depicting Bellerophon with Pegasus, Perseus with Andromeda and the Death of Adonis, one bearing incised signature 'And. a Pozzi', each panel 18cm x 12cm, all mounted within a 19th century stained wood frame. Note: Andrea Pozzi, son of Giovanni Battista Pozzo (Pozzi), worked for King Carlos III of Spain within his highly successful workshop at Buen Retiro Palace in Madrid, also working for the king of Naples and Sicily. A set of three similar later panels by Julius Troschel are housed at Neue Pinakothek in Munich.
