Willem Gerard Hofker - 'Poera Modjapait. Kloenkoemp. Bali' (Puri Majapahit, Bali, Indonesia), pastel with coloured chalks, signed, titled and dated 1938 recto, label verso, 41cm x 30cm, within a stained wood frame. Note: there is a study of a girl on the reverse of the paper. This drawing was considered important enough by the artist to be reproduced as a lithograph. Provenance: presented to the vendor's grandfather by Koninklijke Java-China-Paketvaart Lijnen NV (the Dutch Shipping Company) in 1951.
